Summer’s Ending

It’s been a while since I’ve written a note. My apologies, but it’s been a busy summer! We’ve ridden lots of miles on the motorcycle, and saw alot of beautiful country. Unfortunately, that is over for the time being, and it’s time to get back to business!

There is always something new cooking at Backwoods. We continue to expand our offerings with new machine purchases. This time, it is a mechanical, or diamond drag, engraved. It engraves by actually “carving out” material.  It works particularly well on metal and now gives us the ability to engrave “into” fine metals, such as sterling silver and gold. Laser engravers just don’t do a good job on those materials.

If you need a name, dates, saying or verse on a bracelet, key tag, money clip, or watch..we can do it. We are limited to the flatter objects at this time. We can still do round cups and glasses with the laser. We can not do the inside of rings.

Engraving is getting more and more busy. As well as the many gift items we create, we are doing corporate jobs for many local companies. We also are building some of our own products to engrave on.  When a customer asks for something we do our best to provide it!

Come see us as we show off our wares at the Red Wing Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo next Tuesday, October 20th, from 4-6:30 at the Summit Room of the St James. We will have some samples of what we do, in giftware and promotional products.
