Framing – What We Offer

Custom Framing

We help you select your frame, type of glazing and mat colors, then put it all together. We can frame anything imaginable using our state of the art computerized mat cutter and frame shop. See the Materials page for more information about what frames, glass and mats are available.

Engraving Of Frames, Mats and Glass

Customize your framed item with engraving. We can engrave the mat, the glass, or a descriptive plate to go into the framing package. Engraving opens up many new design possibilities.

In Person and Remote Design

Our goal is to help you put together the perfect combination of material to make your artwork shine. You’ll be surprised how different frames and mats combine to create  different looks. With so many options available, we like to give you our undivided attention for as long as needed to create the look you want. By calling for an appointment, we can do that. However, if time is an issue and you’d like to try our remote design service, contact us.  We will need  the art work in hand, or a quality photo of the artwork in order to start.

Dry mounting

Do you want your art or picture to look crisp hanging in the frame, without wrinkles or waves? Try dry mounting  the art work. The process entails “sticking” your piece to a foam core board. Please note, this is not easily reversible, so is recommended only for poster or decorative art.

Lamination and Encapsulation

If your piece warrants some protection but for some reason you don’t want conventional glazing, we offer a service for that. Lamination is a process of covering the piece with a thin film of plastic that replaces the glass. Encapsulation is the process of enveloping the work between two sheets of inert plastic, so that the object/art can be mounted without  damage or  changing the object.

Frame Repair or Refit

Framed art falls..and it breaks.  What then?  We can take your damaged piece,  dismantle, repair, then refit it , so it’s as good as new. We can also take your pictures that were framed in the past, and refit them in conservation material so they don’t fade over the years. If your décor has changed, update your art to match. Water damage?  Refit your art so it looks as good as new.  Smoke damage? Frequently, refitting with new matting and backing is all that’s needed. Should you need a new print, we can usually find a replacement.

Delivery

Unable to find time to visit our gallery? We can pick up your art at the place of your choosing, design it to your requirements, then deliver your finished piece.  If you would like us to come to your home for the design process, that also can be arranged.
